Nanya Technology President Pei-Ing Lee Honored with 2022 GCSA Outstanding Professional

November 16th, 2022 –Nanya Technology today announced President Dr. Pei-Ing Lee was honored with “2022 Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) Outstanding Professional” held by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy.

Dr. Pei-Ing Lee has dedicated himself in the semiconductor industry for over thirty years. He is one of the key inventor for the W/TiN (US5,760,475) and Multiple level interconnect, Dual Damascene (US4,962,058). The technology has become one of the major breakthroughs in the scaling limitation of CMOS devices. It has become a necessary process for global semiconductor manufacturing plants. In 2002, Dr. Pei-Ing Lee has leaded to the cooperation with the German memory leader Infineon Technologies AG, and developed the unprecedented cooperation model of "Joint Development" and "Joint Venture", and established Inotera Memories, Inc. to retain the proprietary DRAM manufacturing technology in Taiwan.

Dr. Pei-Ing Lee led a major transformation of Nanya Technology, developed more than 800 customers around the world, and successfully transitioned into the consumer and mobile low-power and datacenter markets. At the same time, he led the company to establish self-developed R&D team, and introduced more than 40 product lines, successfully developed 2 generations of 10nm process technology, and planned to invest a new Fab and R&D center for advanced process technology. Under the management of Dr. Lee, Nanya has greatly strengthened technical services, improved quality and customer satisfaction, and achieved profitability for 9 consecutive years.

Over past few years, Nanya Technology has been recognized internationally, including named to the “DJSI World Index and Emerging Markets Index” (ranked 1st in the global memory industry) in 2021, and were also recognized with the CDP Climate Change Evaluation’s highest honor: "A List Leadership Level" for the second year, and were awarded the “MSCI/FTSE4Good Emerging Markets Index” for the fourth consecutive year. In the national recognitions, the company were awarded for "National Sustainable Development Award" by the Executive Yuan, "National Industrial Innovation Award" and "Green Factory" Certificate by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, “National Enterprise Environmental Protection Award " by the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) and the "National Talent Development Award" by the Ministry of Labor. Nanya were also recognized with the Most Prestigious Sustainability Awards – “Top 10 Taiwanese Companies Sustainability Model Award” from the TCSA for the second time.

Dr. Pei-Ing Lee’s contribution and influence to the industry’s sustainable development have won unanimous acclaim from the panel of international judges and earned him the highest honor of the fifth annual “GCSA -Outstanding Professional”. Dr. Lee will continue to take leadership role and work together with global partners to achieve sustainable development.
