Nanya Technology Exhibits Joint Projects with MCUT to Enhance Synergy between Academia, Industry and Local Communities

22th August 2023 – Nanya Technology ("Nanya") and Ming Chi University of Technology ("MCUT") has long been collaborating closely to promote education on sustainability. To celebrate latest progress, which marks a significant milestone for the partnership, Nanya and MCUT co-organise the "CSR x USR Special Exhibition" to tell the story of how collective efforts are mobilised to practice sustainability with greater impact.

At the exhibition opening, Nanya's General Manager, Pei-ing Lee, and the President of MCUT, Thu-Hua Liu, also attended the ceremony, which signifies an ever-growing emphasis on the partnership. Nanya's Executive Vice President, Lin-Chin Su, said that it was exciting to "create broader impact" through closer relationship with the University, and he "looks forward to furthering the joint efforts on different fronts and connecting more stakeholders to promote common good."

"The University has been dedicated to USR (University Social Responsibility) for years with local government and communities," said MCUT President Thu-Hua Liu, "Nanya's support is greatly appreciated and the joint projects undoubtedly enable a larger scale of achievement."

The collaboration of Nanya and MCUT started from 2000 for internship and on-the-job training, and later diversified into joint lectures, student design contests, and projects involving local organisations. The solid partnership, evolving into a growing network connecting academia, industry and communities, resulted in the exhibited projects including:

  • Design Thinking, Creative Integration: A three-year project that allows students from different departments to take courses on sustainability and develop solutions for problems on various aspects of sustainability such as environment, local culture and corporate ethics.

  • Copper Together Design Contest: Students leverage the copper recycled from the wastewater of Nanya's factory to create artworks that raise awareness of topics on SDGs.

  • Placemaking: Community Empowerment Project: The project revitalizes Taishan District by working with local temple, government agencies and cultural organisations to host a series of activities, including cultural tours, and workshops of traditional arts and crafts.

The exhibition is open from 22th August for about one month at Nanya's Headquarters in New Taipei City. Join us to explore the journey of enterprise, university and local communities working together to promote sustainability and regional revitalisation!
