Nanya Technology Achieves ISO 26262 ASIL-B Automotive Safety Certification

February 22nd, 2023 – Nanya Technology's LPDDR4/4X series low-power products have received ISO 26262 ASIL-B automotive functional safety certification from the SGS-TÜV, allowing the company to provide reliable chip solutions for its global customers.

For a long time, Nanya Technology has been deeply involved in the automotive market by providing customers with product design and manufacturing services that meet international standards such as AEC-Q100, IATF 16949, and ISO 26262. Our 2Gb/4Gb/8Gb LPDDR4/4X series low-power products have been widely used in various markets such as smartphones, wearable devices, smart speaker, portable NBs, high-speed SSDs, cars, and industrial products.

ISO 26262 focuses on functional safety and ensures that each component of a car performs its function accurately. It aims to prevent product system failures through a complete and rigorous engineering concept during the development stage. This standard identifies the risk level (ASIL: Automotive Safety Integrity Level) of a product by means of its functional safety management, the safety life cycle of design and development, and product specific features.

Nanya Technology Marketing & FAE Vice President, Rex Chuang, said that with the rapidly growth of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), vehicle-to-everything communication, autonomous driving, and smart cars, the "safety" of automotive electronic components is increasingly important to international automakers. Nanya Technology has established ISO 26262 automotive functional safety-related processes in 2019, and ensured that our products meet the safety risk standards through strict quality control, in order to achieve a reliable and safe automotive electronic system.
