Nanya Technology Received “A” List Rating, CDP's Highest Honor in response to Water Security

December 16th, 2022 –Nanya Technology (Nanya) was selected in “A” List, the highest honor in the 2022 CDP Water Security category for the first time, and evaluated as the Leadership Level in the Climate Change category. The honor reaffirms Nanya’s efforts in water resources management and climate change adaptation.

Nanya disclosed energy and carbon management strategies and performances, and received CDP Leadership Level for five consecutive years. “Nanya actively takes actions in energy conservation and carbon reduction, leading suppliers and partners to respond to climate change, including greenhouse gas emissions control, energy conservation and carbon reduction programs. The company also enhanced recycled water resources through a comprehensive recovery process. In the future, we will continue to work with our global partners on sustainable management, making contribution to the environment, society and economy.”, said Dr. Pei-Ing Lee, president of Nanya Technology.

Nanya has long been concerned about water resources management and continues to develop water saving measures and water recycling projects. The company has invested NT$3 billion in wastewater treatment facilities. The process water recovery rate has been greatly increased from 78.1% in 2017 to 90.8%. The company will keep planning various wastewater recycling programs, including establishing a Water Recycling Center at the new FAB, to achieve water conservation goals.

Nanya released its first TCFD Report in 2022. revealing the company’s actions on climate change. The company’s eco-friendly products contribute 87% of its sales in 2021 and saving up to 710 million kWh of electricity for our customers. Our next generation 10nm products showed a reduction of from 16% to 35% in average power consumption. Furthermore, the company's low-carbon products are also sold to new energy technology applications including charging station, electric vehicles, solar photovoltaic systems, and smart thermostats…etc., contributing to the environment in various ways.
