Nanya Announces DDR333 Volume Production

Nanya Technology has become the first DRAM manufacturer to announce volume production and shipment of DDR333. The Taiwanese supplier began customer shipment of the leading edge DRAM technology in November. Nanya offers DDR333 in both 128Mb and 256Mb devices and PC2700 memory modules.

Currently, DDR333 is used in high-density, high-performance PCs and broadband applications. DDR333 allows significantly enhanced P4-based system performance while remaining comparable to the cost of DDR266. With 2.7 Gbyte/sec bandwidth, DDR333 has the ability to increase the memory performance up to 30 percent higher than DDR266. As DDR's mainstream status appears certain among present and future memory technologies, DDR333 is expected to soon hold the spotlight of the DRAM market.

With the upcoming introduction of DDR333-based chipsets and motherboards, Nanya will continue to be a leader in DDR development. Current DDR333 products from Nanya have completed compatibility testing by chipset makers and validation testing by motherboard manufacturers such as ASUS, Gigabyte , Microstar and ECS.
