Nanya Technology ("Nanya") receives the bronze award at the Taipei Golden Eagle Micro-Movie Festival 2023 with its documentary short film "Ways to Recycle Scrap Copper." The documentary narrates the process of turning the copper extracted from wastewater into artworks, which is the project called "Copper Together" collaborated by Nanya and Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT).
Dedicated to sustainability, Nanya puts much focus on the younger generation, which results in a solid partnership with MCUT. Nanya and MCUT has launched a three-year course "Design Thinking, Creative Integration" since 2022, which contemplates sustainability from the perspectives of design, creativity, and ethics.
Continuing the momentum, Nanya and MCUT co-organises the Copper Together Contest. The project includes sustainability lectures and a design contest, requiring students to combine their design work with ESG-related ideas and use scrap copper as design material. With particular focus on circular economy, the project enables students to integrate their creations with various aspects of UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
The 3,528 hours of efforts, from copper electrolysis, lectures, brainstorming to the realisation of 53 creative artworks, have been recorded as a documentary short film and awarded bronze at Taipei Golden Eagle Micro-Movie Festival 2023.
