NTC Partners with the National Park Service To Protect Biodiversity and Advance Nature-Positive Collaboration (2026/10/30)

NTC Corporation (NTC) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on "Biodiversity Conservation and Nature-Positive Collaboration" with the National Park Service (NPS) under Taiwan's Ministry of the Interior today.

By combining NTC's expertise in corporate sustainability governance with the NPS's expertise in ecological conservation, the two parties will jointly promote environmental education, biodiversity conservation, nature-related exchanges, and sustainability awareness. Through public-private collaboration, this partnership aims to strengthen the connection between businesses and the natural environment, contributing to a sustainable, nature-positive future.

Joseph Wu, Chief Sustainability Officer of NTC, said "Corporate sustainability is not only about reducing the environmental impacts of business operations, but more importantly, about considering how to leverage corporate resources and influence to create positive value for nature. Through our partnership with the National Park Service, we look forward to starting with environmental education and nature conservation exchanges, progressively deepening our understanding of and engagement with nature-related issues, and extending the principles of nature sustainability to our employees, supply chain partners, and a broader range of stakeholders."

Under the MOU, both parties intend to advance nature-positive actions through the following five areas of collaboration:

1.    Environmental Education and Nature Experience Collaboration

2.    Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Collaboration

3.    Corporate Site and Nature Coexistence Exchanges

4.    Sustainability and Nature-Related Knowledge Exchange

5.    Stakeholder Engagement and Expansion of Sustainability Impact

Advancing from Net-Zero Emissions to Nature Positive: Strengthening Corporate Nature Governance

In response to global environmental challenges, including climate change and biodiversity loss, corporate sustainability efforts are expanding to encompass nature impact assessments, natural resource governance, and ecosystem protection.

NTC has long been committed to green manufacturing and climate action. The company has also actively adopted the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework, integrating nature-related considerations into risk management and business decision-making while progressively establishing a corporate nature governance framework.

Guided by the strategic approaches of "Resilience and Adaptation" and "Mitigation and Transition," NTC is addressing nature- and climate-related challenges while actively engaging stakeholders to develop strategies and implement actions informed by diverse perspectives.

Expanding Sustainability Impact Through Public-Private Collaboration to Protect Taiwan's Natural Heritage

The establishment of this partnership with the NPS represents a further step in extending NTC's sustainability vision beyond its operations and value chain to Taiwan's valuable natural environment. By combining conservation expertise with corporate resources, both parties aim to explore diverse opportunities for corporate participation in nature conservation.

Looking ahead, NTC aims to leverage the NPS's expertise in ecological conservation and environmental education to enhance employees' biodiversity knowledge. The company will also explore opportunities to integrate nature conservation principles into its operational sites, fostering a harmonious relationship between business operations and the natural environment.

Both parties will continue exchanging knowledge and practical experience on nature-positive approaches, nature-related risks and opportunities, and ecological conservation. Based on actual needs, they will explore further collaboration opportunities and progressively establish a partnership model that creates value for the environment, businesses, and society.

NTC believes that protecting the natural environment requires collective efforts from governments, businesses, and society. The signing of this MOU marks an important starting point for establishing a long-term sustainability partnership between the two organizations.

Moving forward, NTC will continue strengthening its nature-related governance and sustainability practices while working closely with the NPS to explore further opportunities for collaboration. Together, both parties aspire to safeguard Taiwan's valuable natural assets and create a more resilient and thriving environment for future generations.
