Nanya Technology has officially released 2025 Nature and Climate Report. As the first memory company to join TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) as an Early Adopter, we continue to deepen our application of the LEAP methodology, integrating the IFRS S2 and TNFD frameworks. Beyond assessing climate-related risks, we are actively identifying how our operations depend on and impact the natural environment and biodiversity. We recognize that the semiconductor industry's value chain is closely intertwined with natural resources — and so, alongside our pursuit of technological leadership, we are equally committed to being a responsible partner to nature and climate.
Here are our key achievements in 2025:
🌱 Driving Steady Progress in Low-Carbon Transformation
Nanya Technology continues to invest in process innovation and energy-efficient product design, developing advanced processes, expanding our low-power product portfolio, and optimizing packaging methods to deliver more efficient, lower-energy products. In 2025, we completed 30 energy-saving initiatives, achieving total energy savings of 4,695 MWh per year, while increasing our renewable energy usage ratio to 10%. We also earned dual "A List" leadership ratings from CDP for Climate Change and Water Security, as well as an "A List" leadership rating for Supplier Engagement, and were named to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index for the fifth consecutive year — reflecting the tangible results of our low-carbon transition.
💧 Protecting Every Drop: Safeguarding the River of Life
Water is one of Nanya Technology's most critical natural dependencies. We continue to optimize water efficiency in our manufacturing processes while actively promoting water conservation and recycling. From 2022 to 2024, we were honored with the TCSA Water Resource Management Leadership Award for three consecutive years, and in 2023 we implemented the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) system, earning Platinum-level certification. In 2025, our water conservation efforts achieved savings of 8,702 metric tons per year.
🦋 Coexisting with Ecosystems: Letting Nature Thrive
Since 2013, Nanya Technology has continuously conducted ecological monitoring programs at our facilities, recording 526 species of vascular plants and 61 bird species — a testament to the stability and resilience of the surrounding ecosystem. We have also partnered with Ming Chi University of Technology and the Society of Wilderness on river waste surveys, Wugu Wetland restoration, and beach cleanup initiatives, taking real, on-the-ground action to protect the ecological cycle of "mountains, rivers, and seas."
