Nanya Technology participated in the 2025 evaluation conducted by the international Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and achieved the highest rating (A List) in both the Climate Change and Water Security categories. Of the 23,000 companies worldwide that responded to the CDP questionnaires in 2025, only 877 (4%) were selected for the A List. Nanya Technology's inclusion recognizes its strong performance in climate change mitigation and adaptation, as well as water resource management.
"As a member of the global semiconductor industry chain," Dr. Pei-Ing Lee, President of Nanya Technology, stated, "Nanya Technology fully recognizes the interconnection and impact among nature, climate, water resources, and our business operations. In addition to establishing comprehensive climate- and nature-related risk assessment processes, we will continue to advance sustainability through innovative practices and collaborate with our suppliers to develop a green value chain. Together, we are identifying optimal solutions for environmental governance and strengthen the Company's resilience to climate- and nature-related risks."
Nanya Technology issued its second Task Force on Nature- and Climate-Related Financial Disclosures in 2025. By integrating the TCFD and TNFD frameworks, the Company has built a comprehensive process for assessing climate- and nature-related risks. We have also implemented corresponding management measures to enhance the Company's resilience to climate- and nature-related challenges. In 2024, we took concrete steps toward our low-carbon vision. Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 12.9% compared to 2020, while Scope 3 emissions per unit of product dropped by 19.4%—well ahead of our original SBTi reduction targets. Additionally, our use of renewable energy grew by 43.9% year over year, reaching 35,230 MWh—equivalent to a reduction of 17,000 metric tons of carbon emissions.
Sustainable water resource management is also a key focus for Nanya Technology. To enhance the Company's water resilience, Nanya Technology has diversified its water sources, including raw water from the canal, tap water, and recycled rainwater, ensuring a stable on-site supply. Within its facilities, the Company has implemented multiple water-saving measures and established a wastewater reclamation system, achieving a total recycled water volume of 5.59 million metric tons in 2024. In the same year, Nanya Technology was awarded the highest rating—Platinum—by the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS). The Company continues to advance sustainable water resource management across five key areas: good water governance, sustainable water balance, good water quality status, important water-related areas, and safe water, sanitation and hygiene for all.
