Nanya Technology held the 2nd Sustainability Supply Chain Conference

Nanya Technology today held the "Nanya Technology Sustainability Supply Chain Conference" for the second year. Suppliers gathered on-site to communicate topics on net-zero transition and human rights issues. Ideas sharing in this conference will enhance the sustainability awareness for suppliers and pave ways for future cooperation to extend Nanya’s positive influence.

Keynote speaker, Professor Allen H. Hu, has introduced the development trend for supply chain management. Mr. Hu explained how the corporates and the supply chain can be connected to implement sustainable development based on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA). Nanya's DJSI consultants, GlobalWafers and Powertech Technology, also shared insights on sustainable supplier management, net-zero transition, and labor right improvement.

On the migrant human rights protection projects, Nanya has encouraged all suppliers to implement a zero-charge policy, examining living and working environments, and other improvement plans, 59 workers benefited from the projects in 2020. Nanya shares the experience on energy management improvement to suppliers, supporting them to implement effective energy-saving plans to reduce energy consumption as well as carbon emissions. This year suppliers participated in 26 energy-saving projects that helped save 24.6 million kWh and reduced 12,569 tons of carbon emissions.

Nanya has established a supply chain management framework. Our suppliers are required third-party verification on quality and environment certification and additional digital supplier assessment evaluation to conduct reviews on six major indicators, including quality, delivery, services, costs, technology, and sustainability. In 2020, the audit coverage rate of high-risk suppliers has reached 100%, and 20 suppliers were audited for sustainability management.

In 2021, Nanya was selected in the DJSI World index with the highest score among the DRAM industry while the supply chain management score ranks in the top 2%. We will continue to work together with suppliers to achieve a sustainable supply chain.
