September 18, 2019 - Nanya Technology Corporation (“NTC”, TWSE: 2408) today announced it has been inducted in the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index (DJSI) of the Semiconductors and Semiconductor Equipment Industry for second straight year as an index component. The inclusion of NTC for a second time is a strong statement and international recognition on NTC’s positive efforts on corporate sustainability in managing economic, environmental and social performance.
In the DJSI assessment, Nanya Technology achieved the highest score on economic indices of the industry in the category of innovation management and product quality and recall management. NTC’s innovative products accounted for 66% of the company’s revenue in 2018, as NTC continue to develop various new product, process technology innovation, and quality improvement projects. NTC also led the highest score in environmental indices of Product Stewardship. The company introduced Life Cycle Thinking (LCT) and green design to continuously improve the eco-friendly production. NTC develops low power products which accounted for more than 60% of sales in 2018. The energy consumption and carbon emissions saved by the new DRAM products is estimated approximately 700 million kWh, which is equivalent to CO2 absorption of 998 Daan Forest Parks, located in Taipei. Moreover, NTC led the group by achieving the highest score in 7 out of 21 categories including Materiality, Policy Influence, Innovation Management, Product Quality and Recall Management, Environmental Policy & Management Systems, Product Stewardship, Social Reporting.
